Over the past couple of years, most Mercedes-Benz Metris orders were placed as a result of a multi-year contract with the US Postal Service. Although the Metris fills a gap between compact and full-size vans, it never took off in terms of popularity — not quite as much as the Sprinter Van. The main reason Mercedes-Benz is taking the gas-powered Sprinter off the market is to make space for a newer, more efficient model. Soon, Mercedes-Benz will be launching the latest generation of the eSprinter. The eSprinter isn’t brand-new; it was released in 2019 with a battery-electric drive system to deliver electric power. The 2023 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter is slated to debut sometime in February 2023. It’ll arrive with plenty of exciting 2023 Sprinter Van upgrades, as well as an advanced EV system to help reduce range anxiety for drivers. In fact, it’s expected to travel up to 295 miles on a single charge.
